39 °C in the shade
(2)
Last summer I made a series of small paintings, acrylic and oil pastel on paper. I named this series: '39 °C in the shade'
This is one of the paintings from that series.
I like to use red and purple together. All other colors are here just to make some balance.
Red and purple are not complementary colors, if I use them together I put myself intentionally in a situation with no balance. So I have to find a solution, some friendly colors. There is green and yellow but not enough of it to put red and purple in equilibrium. Too much red is jumping out of this painting. Eye is searching for more green and all it can find is just blue. That was my aim, never to make satisfaction for eyes, so they have to roam around. But still this painting is balanced with suggestion of some triangles.
The reason why I used so many bright, intensive colors was the high summer temperature: 39 °C in the shade.
There are so many solutions that can solve the problem of color combination. I can just play with colors whole life and be completely happy person. !
Here are some prior steps of this painting:
This painting I have also turned 180 degrees at the end.
Feel free to comment.
Everyone opinion is welcome!
