Tarot: The High Priestess - A Fresh Perspective ❧ Painting & Music

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

It would have been interesting had I kept a diary in the spring of 2014, when I painted the Tarot cards. It was an intense period in my life, and crucial for the even bigger journey that was ahead of me. Do we give enough importance to intuition, and what exactly is intuition anyway?

intuition

1. direct perception of truth, fact, etc., independent of any reasoning process; immediate apprehension.
2. a fact, truth, etc., perceived in this way.
3. a keen and quick insight.
4. the quality or ability of having such direct perception or quick insight.
5. Philosophy.
an immediate cognition of an object not inferred or determined by a previous cognition of the same object.
any object or truth so discerned.
pure, untaught, noninferential knowledge.

I also painted my High Priestess back in 2006 I think, I´ll post the tarot ones here at some point also! I love seeing different interpretations, perceptions and messages.

Oh! I should have imagined that you two were already connected here! I was just thinking how I should probably tag both of you in a comment so that you could meet, hehe.

Not sure if you know, Romanie, but I featured you in my curation post yesterday. I discovered Sabine three weeks ago and featured her in my previous curation post =)

I like her superior nonchalance dressed in blue and so free and dominant in her omnipotence that corresponds to her position as a primordial mother. She symbolizes subconscious and when appearing in the reading she asks for looking deeper and beyond the obvious and to trust personal intuition. Representative of anima, water and moon, which is beautifully underlined with the flow of her water cloth painted in blue, she represents soft feminine energy, receptive, but gentle and strong the same time.
And, as usual, beautiful music selection. I enjoy very much the whole presentation. Music synergizes the symbols of the card and vice versa.

Beautiful representation of the the High Priestess. And your question is one I've often asked... What is intuition?

My best answer is that it is a melange of all our senses coming together and suddenly slipping into a momentum of realisation in the brain... And I think that, even though the moments can happen out of nowhere, we can train our intuition (to be able to use it/trust it more often) as we regularly experience certain things and think about certain paradigms.
