This Yoga pose is known as ARDHA-MATSYENDRASANA, half lord of the fish pose, as we all how many benefits we get from one simple yoga ; this one seems a bit complicated at first but is very simple and has its benefits like firstly strectching, relieves back pain and stiffness and is also useful for slipped disc.
I made this pose as I was learning that how can I study all the body parts in one composition and to how make it interesting from all the angles and I think yoga is a very good theme. It took me around 2 weeks and then I took a plaster mould and casted it into fibre glass.
This is how it looked one hour before taking mould. I took a four piece mould, one at a time by making a 2 inches boundary so that the plaster doesn't get on the other side.
The joining of the mould pieces and casting took so much time that i didn't get time to think about it's presentation, and I spray painted it for my exhibition, into metallic colour, pasted foam sheets at the base.
Then after my exhibition and everything got over, I thought why not paint it to show connection between human and nature or how yoga works on our body.
