This is the third volume of Hella Cool Colors! And this is one of my favorite illustration from all the set!

I hope you are enjoying this project as much as I did while doing it! Today I finished the last piece (the eleventh!)
and it was one of the bests!!

Just to be clear: this is not the last piece but actually the third I did for this awesome video-game.

Guys you really gotta try it! It's truly amazing!

Actually my original idea was this one that you can see at the right. With some "cubic" or "squared" clouds.

It didn't happening much until I realized it was a bad idea, and I'll tell you why.

Let's start saying that the clouds are a major point of contrast because their value: they are really high value and in contrast with the blackness of the space and relatively darkness of the rest of the artwork, it becomes the main focal point. This is also a big issue if we talk about scale...

...these clouds are making the Earth look like a tiny ball in the space, taking the whole "epicness" from the illustration.

NOBODY IS GONNA TAKE AWAY MY EPICNESS!

So naturally I took a kinda hard decision and went for the non-clouded one. (fuç#!@g clouds, they took me a while to be done!)

But after all, it was a really enjoyable process, even with one or two iterations from the client. Which is a a miracle that these are so few!

This was a great experience mostly for studying and going back to the fundamentals: composition, perspective,
shape language and light and color.

In the end the result was just amazing. I couldn't be more happy !
