That's right my fellow buddies from France! This time was for napoleonic revolution!

Ladies and gentlemen, this game is gonna be awesome !! Honestly I can't wait to see it finished !

This was planned to be a night-scene. So the colors should be something that we as humans are not really use to see: a hella ton of blues!

See... the reflection of the moon across the atmosphere always pushes the colors towards the blue. Saturated and desaturated. The highlights become gray and the shadows super saturated tones of blue. Even reds get desaturated to adapt and be part of the whole dark scene.

If you play with this colors/tones enough, you will get the perfect mood for the scene.

It wasn't enough with making it dark and "night...ish", we are artists and we have to put some drama on it as well! If not... where is our story telling boooi??

A resource to add more tension to the whole scene is to add some light dramatic light (such as the theater one... on the front of the characters and on the characters).

It is important then to make contrast on the main focal point! How you ask?...

...Shadows !

Shadow against light is the main contrast property that the eye perceive. And so on, the most powerful one.

So this is the whole final result.

I always say that the base is the most important thing. You must have a base that talks by itself, so when you apply the render over it, it will look only better! If your image doesn't work since the beginning... there is no render that will make it look good in the end.

This was a great experience mostly for studying and going back to the fundamentals: composition, perspective, shape language and light and color.
