The Birth of a Wyvern - Pt2 - Lineart Overpowered

Hi Everybody !

If you haven't seen the first part, go there and check it!

This Wyvern screams for being unleashed!!

My purpose with this artwork was to make a bug level up, as big as I could.

But not only to make a level up and then go back to the same crap of always. No no!

This time I wanted to do something different. This time I wanted to really, really learn and not just to do something fancy and good-looking. This is why I spent a little bit more of time on this one.

Without counting the previous studies I did (heads of dragons and other practices, sketches) it took me roughly two hours and a half to go from the first sketch of the wyvern until the clean line. Which is something accepted in terms of time in the professional world.

After that the color and rendering stage started, and i wanted to push this one further like no other artwork of mine. It took me a total of 14 hours, or a little bit less, to achieve this quality.

Still, this is a good time considering that it used to take me weeks to do finished pieces that weren't even close to the quality I achieved with this one.

So I am pretty happy overall with the lineart already.

If you liked this... Wait to see the finished piece!

Thanks a lot for your support and I see you in the next one!

Can't wait to see the completed piece!

Thats a huge beast! 💪

I so love your post for few reasons:

  1. I can never draw dragons/wyverns properly... so I'm hoping to learn one or two things from you!
  2. Inspiration
  3. You're awesome for sharing them. 😄

Now I'm curious, are you going to color it up?

Precisely! This is actually a finished piece, I am just showing the process in different stages :P

In the next post I m going to show the final result, maybe even today =)

Ah I see, that's fascinating! I love colors so I was just curious if you're going to take it further, but don't worry. It is still awesome! I'm looking forward to it. 👍
