Servicing an Icon - The Vintage "Red" Rolex Submariner

in art •  7 years ago

The “Red” Sub, one of the most historic vintage pieces that was made by

Rolex. I recall around 12 years ago when I started my career as a

watchmaker glancing over at my first Submariner. I thought to myself, “Now

this is one heck of a watch.” The broad sports style case, the black on black

dial and insert, and oh yeah…the creamy patina plots and hands. I guess I

was so excited looking over the watch that I failed to observe the one thing

that made me instantly fall in love-those bold letters in red

reading “Submariner”.

Here is a gorgeous Mark lV with the most beautiful patina. I enjoyed bringing

this piece back to life and reminiscing those days of working on my first love.
