This is my entry for the “Jenny's Art Contest Week #2” by @topkpop.

The theme was something unusual but unique which is "Create Something Evil".

I would generally prefer to draw something that is positive, so the art I created is something that can be perceived to by "Evil"...

I used pencil and color pencils for this drawing, and then i edited the drawing on computer.
Hope that you like it.

Create Something Evil: The Eye

So why did I draw an Eye?

I read an interesting quote by Paulo Coelho which is:

“The eyes are the mirror of the soul and reflect everything that seems to be hidden; and like a mirror, they also reflect the person looking into them.”

So I decided to draw an eye for the entry

To me, I would like to think that there is no evil initially, and that is why babies seem to be the purest beings. However, as a child grows up they start getting influenced by their environment and jealously, anger, hatred, greed etc start to take over and influence them. That is why the environment is so important for a child in their early ages.

___

So, when you look at this entry, there may be 2 possible interpretations out of many interpretations.

Firstly, You may be looking at someone's eye, and it may seem 'evil', but what made you think it is evil?

Secondly, you may be looking at someone's eye, and think it seems 'evil', but you are actually seeing your own 'eye' from the reflection.

The thing is we often based our perception of someone based on their appearance and we may look at the negatives of people. Perhaps we can consider focusing on the good and positive points of others and maybe there may be less conflicts.

Doesn't make sense, no worries. Maybe just enjoy the art.

This is an animated gif of the drawing process

Some progress pictures

I started off with a rough sketch of the eye.

Adding more detail and darkening the lines, Adding Shading

Start coloring in with color pencils

Slight editing on computer
