"Drowning" [watercolor]

Hey guys, I did this watercolor when I was going through a phase of practicing my washes - and in this particular piece I wanted to practice graded washes from one color to another - or in this case 3 different colors: light blue to indigo to purple. I struggled with it a bit at first, I did probably 5 trial runs on other paper before I finally did this one, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Here is the framed piece (picked up the frame at a thrift store for like $2):

    Nice grediantions, I still struggle getting an even grade of color as I move through different tones.

                  Thrift store frame - perfect!
                  This makes me think of dreaming underwater, or something to that effect. Your practice works are much neater, cleaner and more well thought out than my chaos. I like both ways ☺

                    well you should really see my practice pages before moving onto this one, those were pretty bad! lol
                    I've found the best places for frames is actually Ikea - best frames for the price, by far.

                                Tsk, tsk.. Man, I'm shaking my head because of this beaut! I love the gradient and the almost galactic-looking water. Most of all, I love the use of the whites. The balance with the colors really make them pop. Another masterpiece from the early years, brother!

                                    I hope my "result posts" for every edition would encourage even more user interaction for the videos. I haven't gotten the chance to try out the eyes to get a headstart on it, and I'm looking to buy a basic watercolor set in anticipation for the dry brush ones.

                                      Dry brush is actually a totally different thing! So don't buy watercolor stuff for dry brush! (although it will be good for watercolor stuff ;) ) Dry brush uses oil paint and a little sewing machine oil and some synthetic brushes (which can be watercolor too actually). I'm gonna try to pump videos out a little faster, at least the beginning ones, we'll see how it goes.
