The Starry Night is an abstract landscape painting of an expressive night sky over a small hillside village by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh in 1889. The work was not well known when the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) purchased it in 1941, but it soon became one of van Gogh’s most famous works. The painting is widely recognized as one of the most famous icons of the night sky ever created. The swirling style of Starry Night appears, to many, to make the night sky come alive.
Needless to say that the painting is famous due to the Van Gogh himself. The Art style he created is purely unique and was very bold for his Era.
