A Re-Draw Challenge!

Hey Guys! The other day I was going through my sketchbook and came across this drawing you see below here.

I liked the final result for the most part, but the solid blue-ness bit was throwing me off. I had used a Copic Marker knock-off and I was not very impressed. (For those who are unfamiliar, Copic Markers are alcohol ink with a few different kinds of snazzy tips like a chiseled tip, a flexible brush tip and a bullet nib) The knock-off I used was patchy and bled quite a lot so it basically stressed me out using it.

So I decided to re-do it!

I decided to use Strathmore's multi media paper, so after transferring the basic lines from the original drawing I used a dip pen and acrylic ink to reinforce some of the lines so they wouldn't get lost in the color I was planning on throwing on there. From there I added the colored inks and ended up with this!

I thought I was done and even posted this on instagram as finished. However, after letting it sit for a while it called me back. Eventually after much intense staring I decided it was in fact not done. So I went back in with my dip pen and added more lines until some part of my brain, or maybe my hand, started telling me I was done.

So here's the finished product!
