During the Christmas holidays I had some free time to work on drawings. I always wanted to try to work with watercolors on canvas and that day was the day. I have some 20x20 cm canvases at home for emergencies so I took one of them for this work. It was an emergency for sure!

For a long time I had an image in my mind: a reflection of a fox on the water which looks like a woman. I tried to make a quick sketch and tried to figure out how to draw but it was harder than I thought so I simplified it like this. I still would like to try the other idea when I am able to.

I used two tones of colours for this work: orange-brownish colours and gray-black. I also had a lots of help of watercolor pencils.

You can see the process below.

I can't say exactly if it was harder or easier than working on the paper but I can explain the differences, the canvas doesn't absorb the water and the pigments as quick as paper so if you regret of a step you can erase it easily, but the hard part is that you can't lead the water as you wish and of course it doesn't give the stain efect which is my favorite.

In my opinion it is finished so which means that I won't add anything more but in case of I improve my technique, especially on the eyes, I may work on the details a bit in the future.

I hope you like it, thanks for your time!!
