It's been a heck of a weekend.

All week last week I have been drafting plans for my pouring table. The old table was a folding trestle table that bowed and even though for the most part it did the trick I found it to be too small and problematic.

The bowing part was a major problem and I worked around it by placing two boards underneath my work area to try and get a level surface. Then there was the whole propping the canvases on top of something, usually cups or bottle lids, for paint drainage but after a few days of pouring, the paint puddle eventually built up high enough that the canvas was pretty much level with the paint puddle.

In comes my table...

The old table was 180cm wide and roughly 70cm deep. Because of the limited space in the office I had to stick to 180cm, 185cm the most and due to my t-rex arms (and baby bump) 90cm was the deepest I could go without pulling a muscle.

On Saturday we headed down the mountain to gather supplies and would have finished it Saturday night had we not had a visitor come by and a slight case of food poisoning.

Saturday night was not a good night for me....

Lucky for me Hubby recovered very quickly and was able to get me supplies (bananas and bread anyone?) on Sunday morning AND see to the table construction while I was still feeling out of sorts.

But not before we squeezed in another trip to Bunnings which resulted in a late start to construction.

Not his usual thing, being a first timer and a perfectionist, everything was measured thrice and extra screws were added in.

Soon enough it was starting to take shape and my vision was coming to life.

And before I knew it, she was in the office!

The table has two distinct sections. The top bit where all my paint and tools go and the bottom bit which is the pouring section.

Originally I wanted to use a lock to hold the top partition in place but decided last minute that I didn't need a lock, especially if it's a snug fit, which it was. This gives me flexibility in terms of pouring space and will allow me to pour on larger canvases.

Currently I've allocated 60cm x 180cm pouring space for myself. Without the partition and my tools etc, I can extend that space to 85cm x 180cm

Loving the wire mesh and the fact that I no longer need to prop my canvases up anymore.

Also loving Hubby. I'm so proud of him and the badass table he made. I'm so lucky and thankful he's so supportive in everything I do.

I'm so stinking happy I can almost ignore my stomach pains ☺️ and all my other pregnancy pains.

Can't wait to test this baby out!!
