BEASTLY TALES

CHARACTER SMEAR

A most cruel, dreadful bombing in a country in Asia,
Dreadful it was, callousness would “amaze ya”.
A fat faced fool on T.V did declare,
The perpetrators to be like “animals” if you dare.
WHOA! Stop right there! ANIMALS, I don’t think!
HUMANS would be appropriate. Yes some humans stink!
An animal would never behave in a manner so evil.
So cowardly and cruel, not even a weevil!

So how off mark was that fool, the one with the fat face,
What he asserted was so wrong, a real disgrace!
Even though some animals may be a little scary,
Even though of these we may be justifiably wary,
Animals are not inherently evil in nature,
Even if they be long and slender in stature,
It’s the human creature that can be so evil and callous,
Who, oft’ times, seems to drink from the poison chalice.
Who will plot and scheme like a psychopath,
To achieve their own end, their epitaph.

Animals may kill as a resort to defence,
Or to eat, that food chain, from small to immense.
But premeditation does not enter their thoughts,
And they do not idly kill in the name of sports.
So, next time there is an horrific event,
The next time unconscionable vileness is hell bent,
Declare the perpetrators to be like HUMANS, which unfortunately they are!
Avoid casting aspersions to animals, their reputations to mar!
