BEASTLY TALES

GOOD ADVICE

Oscar had a relative who often said,
“Cheer up, we’ll soon be dead!”
“Prima facie” this doesn’t sound too good.
But it should be really understood
That such a comment had double meaning,
With perhaps even another, in-betweening
In one sense it could suggest,
That it might, indeed, be best,
To make the most of life, no not naught,
Because, as is well known, life is short.
Another interpretation that might be considered macabre, yes!
Is that life is so onerous, yes a mess!
That a cause for good cheer, could be to see it’s end,
To complete and escape it’s onerous trend.

Either way it’s still good advice,
Alluding, perhaps, to something nice.
And since pleasures can, now-a-days, be rare,
Of anything that offers cheer, we should take care.

I prefer the first interpretation, we have to make the most of life, essentially because although there are things that we can not control, we have the power to control our reactions and how we interpret what happens to us. We can have a good life if we decide it

Thanks for your comment.

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others
The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.

So very true. Thanks for your comment.

don't mention @beastlylbanter

This is brilliant, it just goes to show that our attitude is everything, we can choose to look at at life either way. I like the way you bring humour into it though.

A discerning comment. Thank you.

Indeed, ground shattering advice. I will try it too.
