The first morning after the day i landed in Istanbul was more than what was to be expected of this beautiful city. Although waking up to a cloudy morning, this little guy both made and stole my breakfast. Turkey Seagulls are witty savages that will take their shot when they see unattended food last longer than 3 seconds.
If anyone gets has a chance to go to visit Istanbul, this desert is an absolute must have. Not only is this tradition treat made from real natural fructose sugar but its absolutely delicious! Especially the white covered fluff with pomegranate center (my favorite). One thing about Turkish Delight is that you’ll never not see one that is either covered in pistachios, pomegranate or roses, either way it’s totally worth it buying and apparently can be stored for 3 months… again so good oooo.. .
Hagia Sophia is one of the most beautiful Basilica i’ve ever been to and the FIRST. Although being renovation during the time of my visit i'll never forget the beauty that stood before me that was built like.. A couple hundred years ago? Right? I'm not sure either way this image does not do it justice showing how big the museum really is but nonetheless absolutely breathtaking.
I think this is Jesus…
Walking through Taksim, expressed so much culture and really brought us in the melting pot of the city with the food, shops, singers in the street, and sights. Within this part of the city the road filled with people also exploring or shopping and is split by railways for the street tram. As i was walking i spotted these kids hitching a ride on the tram by themselves, it was an interesting sight to see as i tried to think where they could possibly be going and why doesn’t the other boy have any shoes?
I always saw on websites talking about what to do in turkey, as i went down the list, one of the suggestions caught my eye “Join a protest”. I thought to myself nah no way i’d see a protest of march or anything of that sort. However stumbling around Taksim, i saw these women carrying around flags of purple and signs. As to my surprise it was a feminist march of a few women, and it seemed to actually be a good time. Its like they werent angry but peaceful, thrilling and looked like they just wanted to have fun spread awareness. Nobody interfered unless they were joining :)
