This painting is kind of special for me : its previous versions were the topic of my very first post on steemit, a bit more than a month ago.
Since then, I've reworked it again.. and again... and again, experimenting with paint washes aver graphite drawings.
I was almost certain to lead it to its complete destruction, and so didn't even bother to take pictures of its progress. Sorry for that.
Anyways, all experiments done, I've learnt a few things, especially about using mix of acrylic blender, water and paint as a protecting layer for graphite drawing + mix of diluated Gesso and paint above that for translucid colouring.
This gave some interesting texture rendering I'll try to explore more deeply in my future work.
Oh, and yeah : now I've been used at hang it rotated like above on my wall... Let's say it's also part of new form :)

In my opinion, the result is beautiful,I really like the colors and textures. And I love how pictures have their own life and you just have to go with the flow :)

I forgot to tell you that I paint too 😁 I do abstract because then I don’t have to stay in the lines lol (let’s just say I can draw stick people)
My last painting almost a year ago, I used wall putty to get a raised surface and then went to town painting a huge portrait for my bedroom. I only had a bit of putty left. I should’ve purchased another tub and not rushed it. My next painting I’m going to play around with putty again.
Also, when I was little I could draw anything! I could draw an almost identical copy of what I was looking at. I don’t know what happened. I guess I didn’t keep up with it.
My daughter has talent with a pencil! So I’m glad it was passed down 😜

About drawing, I really suck at copying from model or reality. Even if I sometimes do some for training, portraits are a pain.
Starting from abstract and searching forms from random stuff can be fun, like when you seek for figures in clouds. You can then try to higlight them with pen/paint or anything and build interesting things with them.
I you don't feel like being able draw, you can get nice stuff just by tracing what gives you your imagination :D
