Tileable Dirt and Grass Textures

in art •  6 years ago

Last week I made some simple ground and grass textures. I started with the ground and went up from there.

I modeled the dirt after what you would see on a hiking trail. Littered with pine needles, rocks, wet spots, and of course, a footprint. I tossed in a few twigs as well to add a little bit more variation to it.

Next, I started on the grass. I used a technique aptly named the "masterblade." This technique has you create one single blade of grass and then scale and warp it into a few different shapes to make a clump of grass. From there, you just create copies and offset and rotate to create the final, filled page.

This is the finished project. I was fairly happy with how it turned out. I added the clovers to make it more interesting and brightened them up a bit to make them stand out. As always, this texture is fully tileable. Thanks for taking a look!! How do you think it turned out?
