MY chemistry, mixing and co-mingling with Picasso’s..

I was so excited to go because this museum has pieces by some of My favourite artists, including: Picasso, Cindy Sherman, and Warhol, among many others. The modern art section is HUGE. To My ecstatic surprise, they had a large piece by COCTEAU as well, and a Chagall.  meow.

OMG this was the first Picasso I have seen in person, and I was positively awestruck. To see Picasso's brush strokes right in front of Me, words cannot describe. There is definitely no other experience on earth quite like it. It was almost like a religious experience, not surpassed by the experience of meeting Picasso in My dream. And to add to the enjoyment, right next to this particular Picasso was the piece by Cocteau, who is quite obviously, one of My obsessions. This piece by Cocteau was on linen (a bedspread actually), in graphite, black chalk, and crayon - titled 'La Peur donnant des ailes au courage'. The catalogue for the modern art collection states "Cocteau was both highly innovative and regularly scandalous." lol, I love it.

I must admit, I actually reached out and touched this particular Picasso piece, just one finger, right on the paint.. a quick little movement, My skin brushing against Picasso's brush strokes for just a moment, right where Picasso himself might have rested his own hand, who knows?.. I tried to resist, but the urge was just too powerful to ignore! It's kind of SUPER cool when you think about it, because now it will forever be altered by a brush with MY chemistry, mixing and co-mingling with Picasso's.. and that is so appropriate, don't you think? I'm quite sure Picasso would have wanted it that way, himself.

I could have easily stood there, in between the Picasso and the Cocteau for hours, immersed in artistic reverie. I lingered for the longest time in that spot, followed chronologically by Chagall, and Warhol.

CHAGALL. Oh how I love his use of VIBRANT VIVID colour. Unfortunately, the Chagall was on paper, so it was behind glass. I did get a good photograph of it however, even with the glass. I had NO idea they had a Chagall there, and apparently neither did anyone else. A museum clerk noticed Me admiring it, and told Me they had just recently put it up, and just in time for MY arrival there.. how PERFECT is that?

We all know how I feel about WARHOL. I found a piece from his 'Myths' series entitled 'The Shadow' - a diamond dust, god I love those. I got a fabulous photograph of Me sitting under it. It looks so cool, cuz like, there is Warhol, and there I am looking up at it!!

Of course I had to check out the fashion exhibit next, which features some positively gorgeous pieces of vintage couture, including a flapper 1920's sequined gown by CHANEL. I fell in love with it immediately, and only afterwards saw that it was a Chanel.. not surprisingly, it was My favourite piece in the collection. They had a large display of vintage Vogue magazine covers on one wall, lined up like little soldiers, featuring some highly stylistic fashion art.

I absolutely had the BEST time, and I got some great artsy photos, very unique, and individualistic, tres ME. I plan to compile a special 'Art Museum' gallery for My photoblog in My secret society area, where My lucky secret society slaves can look at the images while reading about some of My favourite pieces, artists that I mentioned here, and more.. and MY feelings about them!
