Famous Surrealist Rene Magritte is known for his visionary works, which are at once timeless and strange. Born in Belgium in 1898, he grew into his work, becoming known for images that "challenge" the viewers perception of reality. Truly, Magritte helped lead a movement of art that did just the same for the art world itself - challenging the concept of what art is, and the emotional states it can conjure in those viewing it. Notorious for his ideas while he was alive, little did he know that after his death in 1967 - he would go on to stay a leader in the world's artistic oeuvre.
