While you were out there if you had a chance to visit Queen Charlotte Island? My great grandfather Foster had a first cousin (who lived to be over 100) whose family lived there. The natives famously carved the type of jade (I think it is actually argillite) that is found there. They would sell these carvings to that family to raise money. It has been over twenty years since we were in contact.
We have a piece that is similar to this kicking around...

No I don’t think I’ve been to that island. Maybe when I go back I’ll have to take a visit.
