Winter is here! 

So recently I was watching a video (forget what the topic was) and got inspired to get my drawing to the next level. I've always been able to draw some decent sketches but I never got to the coloring part (I always thought I would ruin my sketch). And I want to get my sketching to a photo realistic level. The key to drawing is pretty simple. Practice. Every single day (maybe not so simple after all). So this summer I've decided to try and draw something every single day. I've tried something similar in the past but I've always failed. Now I hope this platform can keep me motivated to keep drawing and ultimately improve.

Tonight the first episode of the seventh season of the popular tv-series 'Game of Thrones'  goes live. Personally I'm a big fan of the series and I've been eagerly waiting to lay my eyes on the latest season of Gameof Thrones. 

Why Game of Thrones is my favorite  tv-show right now

Game of Thrones is arguably the most popular tv-show on this globe at the moment. And personally it's my favorite show I've seen yet. I think it's genre really fits with what I seek in a tv-show, I love shows with a good story line and Game of Thrones surely has one since it's backed by a series of well-written books. The genre itself is unique and quite hard to put a label on. It's clearly fantasy but only to a certain extent. I personally feel like the show also has a very real feel to it. In the sense that if we were to create an alternate reality, situated in a medieval like time period, added some dragons and magic we would pretty much get something that looked like a game of thrones. Atleast that's how I feel . Another thing I like is the cast. There are multiple exquisite actors who make the characters live up to their personality. I'm talking about Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Harrington to name a few. Last but not least the fact that they don't fear killing off the 'good guys', don't get me wrong it was hard for me as well some times but not everything can be happily ever after. 

If you haven't seen the show

I highly recommend you to do so if you have some time to spare (the show might seem be a little bit extreme at first but you will start to see the bigger picture later on). However I know this show isn't for everyone, some people just don't feel it  (wich is perfectly fine).

So today to celebrate the release of the new Game of Thrones season I decided to draw the Night's king. This is the end result. Not my best sketch for sure but a good drawing to kick things off. A point of improvement I would like to give myself for tomorrow is to pay more attention to the shading. If you have some tips I would love to hear from you guys!
