Just a quick hello from a new steemian. I'm Rob and yes, I'm a cartoonist/digital artist. I plan to display some of my cartoons, caricatures and illustrations... Hopefully they will be enjoyed by all. I'm not looking to become famous or wealthy. This is just something I do-- I can't help myself -- it's like eating or going to the toilet. Anyway, I may think about posting an ongoing comic too -- just for fun.

A form of muscular dystrophy called, "Charcot Marie tooth" has affected Robert to the point where he can no longer walk, has difficulty using his hands and it is affecting his voice.

In 2007, with the help and loving encouragement of his wife Stephanie, Denton returned to school to pursue formal education in the area of interactive and motion graphics, and digital animation. He finished two diplomas, one with a visual effects specialization and the other in digital animation.

Denton has been cartooning since 2001. He has done artwork for a CD cover of a local singer-songwriter, has produced a music video called "Toxic Rock" which is on YouTube, has drawn caricatures for various businesses and he is the regular monthly cartoonist for Hub Now magazine.

"Undaunted by my circumstances (i.e., being in a wheelchair, limited use of my hands, etc.) I continue to develop my love of drawing, animating and other visual arts” says Denton. “My specialty is portraiture, caricature and cartooning, but I can draw just about anything." Up until 2008, Denton was able to work on canvas and paper. "I can't do that anymore," he says. "I can still draw freehand, but I do it using an interactive graphic tablet. The latest technology has really become my friend." But, Denton doesn't stop there; he credits much of his success and ability to continue drawing to the loving support of his wife. "Stephanie is truly an amazing person, I was able-bodied when I met her and she has stuck by me and helped me and continues to be my primary caregiver... I am a very fortunate man.”
