Dots do not have to be in the 'boring-same-size-form-a-strait-line' when it comes to surface pattern designing. Dots can be very interesting in how they vary in size, formation/placement, and how they collaborate with an added motif or two...for instance, like a 'square' or a 'flower'. Patterns created with these interesting dynamics can become 'eye candy' to the beholder of it, as well as, produce you some new 'cash flow' if presented to the right buyer or manufacturing company. Why not give the simple 'dot' a try this week as you 'create' patterns. Find something in your everyday life that is inspiring, and let it speak to you about your 'DOT PATTERN'. Once inspiriation comes, then get to work using the dynamics mentioned earlier: Variation of size, formation (placement ) and an added motif or two (it can be anything). And once you do, please share your design and your process in creating the design from a simple 'dot'.
Until next time, continue to create!
