Being on Steemit ain’t easy. @aggroed and @acidyo will be the first to tell you that this is not a get rich quick place. Although @mattrainer would be happy to tell you all about the game you can play…for $2,000 or $99 – no one is sure the price, he can’t make up his mind.

You know you have had a loss lately. Most of us have at some point had to suffer a loss. Whether it was our favorite sweater or not making the money you thought you could make on Steemit.

Do you know how to survive a loss?

You dust yourself off. Count the blessing that you do have and move the hell on.

Gaining Through Loss

The amazing thing is that loss does not have to be a complete total waste of our time. When we loss something, we should, also, be gaining something.

Julia talks about how she uses Morning Pages (journaling) to respond to the loss versus the reacting to it. This is an essential component to be successful.

When a loss occurs, if you react and go screaming at the wind, you may miss the opportunity that was knocking. I recently came to terms that my family was more toxic than I ever chose to admit. My response was to say goodbye and move on.

While financially, this has been difficult, but emotionally, I am able to wake up every morning and say my blessings for the day ahead.

The exercise, for this essay, is to bring a loss to mind and then create a doll from this memory. Julia makes it clear that she expects your doll to bring forward more repressed emotion that you believe will happen.

And yes, she is right. My doll is made of book paper and looks like a little girl. I have for the longest time thought I lost the best years of my writing life because I was stuck in a corporate american family.

I am ready to move on…
