The Encounter

Oil on Canvas, 24" x 30", 2013

Another piece from my "Jātaka Tales of a Budgie-Sattva" series; also this was part of my Master's thesis in Grad school. A description is below. Enjoy!

“The Encounter” is a self portrait narrating an interaction between budgie-sattvas that is still in suspense. The figure and the bird both reiterate one another’s gesture through the spread of their limbs. The parrot approaches with curious free fall while the human remains engaging but respectfully cautious. In many ways this piece speaks of the moment before “breaking the ice” between new attractions; that interstitial moment before a particular relationship forms its karmic character.

Hey Leo! :) Great surprise seeing you on Steem. I'm following and looking forward to more from you as well.

Most excellent good sir, most excellent!
There are a few others here also that you might already know. Take a look at this list.

I think this site will take a while to catch on with most people. For starters the voting system is nothing like what people are used to elsewhere on FB and the like. Secondly, the idea that you can be paid for your content, or even voting and sharing is a bit too much for people to believe... at first. ;-)

Yes the format is definitely different. It is nice that users can support one another with respect to their content in a more direct way instead of simply providing content for advertisers and data mining companies, haha. I will be curious to see how this might evolve over time. I find that I spend far less time on Facebook, myself. I think there is a search for a less polarizing social and creative content platform, though, so I expect to see more communities like this.

There will be more blockchain social networks, count on it!

You really have a great sense of light. I am awed by the deft application of hues to evoke surfaces. I really like this.

Thank you for sharing your work.

Talltim, thank you for appreciating this piece and for your attention to the work. :)
