Hey Steemit!

I suddenly realized that it’s already been 4 months since I am here. For these 4 months, I have met a lot of interesting people, made friends, gained some reputation, earned some money and learned a lot, which is the most important thing. I made success and made mistakes. Making mistakes is natural and often helpful. I wouldn’t fully understand some things without these mistakes.

When I first heard about Steemit, I thought this was another platform full of memes and cats. I was absolutely impressed when I came here and saw a strong community of people with the same ideas and interests. I was especially impressed by a large community of artists and I had no doubt that I want to be a part of it.

If you are unfamiliar with my blog, I post mostly my drawings. Drawing is something that makes me calm and distract from the world. Like every artist, not a professional though I am, I have a strong need to share my art and Steemit is a perfect place for it. It is especially pleasant that I get some reward for it.

However, this is all not only about money. A significant decrease in Steem/SBD price did not somehow affect my desire to continue blogging here. The most important thing is feedback and it always warms my heart when I see comments under my works.

I would like to share some ideas and experience that I got for these 4 months, but there are so many ultimate-guide-for-minnows posts and I don’t want to annoy you guys with the things you heard so many times. However, here are some tips for complete beginners that are obvious to me now, but were not so obvious that time:

– Reinvest your profit. Do not withdraw your earnings if you are a minnow or you do not have stable substantial income on your posts. This money will help you grow on the platform. Rest assure, there will be time when you receive stable income on your posts. If your post suddenly becomes viral and earns much money, it is not a tendency at all!

At the very beginning, I made a terrible mistake when I withdrew about 800 USD. I earned this money for 2 posts and I was so excited. I thought I will always earn that much and withdrew it. I could have reinvested this money and I would have grown much faster.

– Be patient. Everybody wants everything here and now, but this is a rare occasion. Most of us need to work hard and be persistent to become popular/rich/famous. It actually depends on your objectives.

For example, I do not make a goal to become rich by means of Steemit, so I just publish my drawings and it is just fun for me. However, I wouldn’t mind if someday it brought me good money:)

– Communicate in any possible ways. Comment on post of other Steemians (I mean good thoughtful comments), take part in different contests, make your own contest. In a nutshell, make your presence visible.

For example, my drawing contest brought me over 120 followers for a month. I think it is not a bad result for a blog with the reputation score 52. BTW, I’m gonna restart my drawing contest soon!

And it goes without saying that you must publish only quality content, plagiarism and offense are not allowed.

Wish you success and a lot of patience guys!

Sincerely yours,
Anton

This post is interesting. I will take your advice. I started steemit about a month and a half ago and I think I'm doing okay but there's always room for improvement. :) Your art is wonderful as well.
