Art & being sick...

A sampling of a logo I've been working on.

Art , Perfection and Being Sick

These three do not belong together and shouldn't be together. Regardless, they've been best buds these days. There's a commision to be made and it must get done. It's a real challenge to try to deal with seeing blurry, trying to get a good product (not to impress, but rather to prove to oneself, hey you CAN do this regardless of your health situation). There's so much at stake, getting a good product worthy of a business starting with a professional image and getting it done on time for marketing at a huge annual biker fest.

But here goes a blast to the success ...or failure

Here goes around the corner feeling sick --- again. Dag it! No breaks for me in any way (very long story). Being a stubburn mule and being raised millitary style has it's perks, never give up, never allow them to see you sweat. This is getting done regardless of pain, blurry vision, mental fog, sleepiness, how many times you need to switch positions in your chair---or bed.

Nasty perfectionism

Okay, so if feeling lousy isn't enough, add your need to get a perfect looking product, though you don't have the prestigious "photoshop" software and need to bounce from one new software to the other to see where you can produce the vision you need to develop as a graphic. Here you decide to try them ALL out and make at least 3 rough versions in three different softwares and at least 20 variations, to see which style not only looks best, but the client will want.

So you think it's all in the software, right?

Some people have the erroneous idea that everyone that does digital art or graphic arts, have it super easy and everyone uses templates and everything gets done by itself pretty much. No, that's not really true (maybe for some with a premade template sortof' application or software),if a person wants a unique product a template is not a good choice (but it would allow the person to make something REALLY quickly and oftentimes cheap looking).

I like a challenge and I like the idea of CREATING

Though it may take sometime and become somewhat of a headache trying to draw on a piece of glass as you would on a piece of paper; I get satisfaction creating as if I were creating a sculpture, a painting, a sketch or making an old school graphics (all of whom I do know how to do and used to do in the past).

Illness changed me route

Illness may have changed the way I create now, but thanks to new technology I am still able to do what I love---even without the hassle of trying to move around with so much equipment. I can no longervsit for long periods of time or stand, but I can create laying down and not smack myself in the face with paint or cut myself with a knife while inclined.

My client's logo finished (in one of the versions needed for this type of clothing). Yes, they're briefs. Had to see how the different versions of the logo would look. 😄 One must keep a sense of humor against adversity. 👌🏻

Any comments leave them below. Would love to hear from you, I do try to answer back.
