The first time that I saw Bob Ross was in the late 90's where his shows were broadcasted in the free TV here in my country. I was fascinated on how he painted one masterpiece within around 30 minutes. Probably it was an hour show with a commercial here.
Bob Ross uses the "Wet on Wet" oil painting technique where a pre-stretched, double primed canvass is applied with a "liquid white", probably a Titanium white oil paint color with a linseed oil so that the paint or painting could be able to edit out or changed even a few days after painting.
So I saw him do the evergreen trees and wondered with amusement and admiration because at the end of his every session he makes a very good painting product indeed. The moment I saw how fast he makes trees I was really amazed because I did have a pre-conceived idea that a good painting takes days or even weeks to make and yet Mr. Bob Ross can do it in 30 minutes.
Even now I am inspired to make a painting, even a digital ones that sometimes makes me admire too my own work. But of course I would like the real brushes and oil paints, canvass, easel, and paint thinners and all those tools like the brushes and the painting knife.
I do not think that I could do a physical painting using those instruments of panting art because of my current body condition because not only my limbs are weak they are also in pain and not in the condition to brush around a physical canvass. So I would just end up doing it digitally but I could not get the right effects because of course nothing could equal the real thing when it comes to such doing a type of artwork.
Bob Ross has always been one of my favourite shows that i still remember watching as a kid. His voice is just so soothing!
I love that his family and the organiztation around them are still honoring his work after he passed, for millions of people to enjoy.
I don't know if you have ever heard this fan-made song, but it's funny and sweet :D
Have a great day :) And would love to see some more artworks from you in the future. Been a longer time now, since you shared one, no?

I think I already saw all of his pain session shows and I still watch it almost everyday @criticalthinkin
Maybe soon I will do again a digital paint, I can't seem to find a good time for it again.

Interesting that you have even heard of Bob Ross. I should stop being surprised. I thought I was probably only one of a few who watched such a show even though I don't paint or have ever painted. It was his soothing voice and definitely his easy quick surprising style that I found mesmerizing. By the time the show was finished everyday I fell gently into a nice sleep. Thanks for the reminder about him I think I will go find his shows on line and watch again...maybe even paint this time now that I have more time in retirement.

Bob Ross is a classic for sure. How many people he inspired to explore their creative side and start paining? Millions I bet.
And a happy little cloud over here...
