Skater Girl
Images property of @rakushasu
For our second post today we have a story about a mysterious skater girl and a lonely kid. It's captivating, it's detailed and so well put, it's simply amazing. I enjoyed reading it start to end, and finishing it made me a little bit sad. Absolutely stunning work @rakushasu!
"So, what's your deal?"
Such simple words, yet they changed the summer break of 1992 forever.
They say you always remember your first love. I'm not sure how true it is for others, but I do. For all the wrong reasons.
I was a lonely kid. After my parents' death, I'd lived with an uncle and aunt. Now, they weren't bad people, but they never wanted kids, especially not a teenager in the middle of puberty.
I guess we were all happy in our own ways when I proposed that I'd live on my own a few years later. They provided me with enough money to scrape by, and so I moved into a small apartment complex at the edge of town.
It was Thursday evening, one week into summer break when I first saw her. -@rakushasu

Solargraphy 5/5

Now for some photography we have an incredible 5 MONTH long exposure photo! The amount of time that took to create this beauty is simply amazing and I'd say it was well worth it. The photo is pure brilliance, a round of applause to you @archbitsmith!
This is a 5-month exposure, showing the sun's path across the sky. I placed photographic enlargement paper, essentially low-sensitivity film, in a beer can with a pinhole. The homemade pinhole camera was mounted on a bridge, facing south. Being placed in a rather visible and accessible location, I was pleasantly surprised that my pinhole camera wasn't removed by a curious passerby or road maintenance employee. In fact, of the ten or so installed, only two went missing after 5 months. -@archbitsmith
This author has posted tons of spectacular photos during their time of Steemit and most of them are really worth checking out, so don't hesitate to visit their profile and see for yourselves!

Animalismo. Digital art project
Images property of @whitehoune
Today's showcase is full of creative works and ideas and it just gets better and better, which leads us to this project by @whitehoune. "Recycling" various old photos and turning them into a beautiful collage of a proud lion is what I'd call incredible creativity. Really, really well done @whitehoune!
I came up with the idea of making a series of digital avatars, calling for the embodiment of animal characters. But decided to weave their “fabric” not just with colors, lines, textures or whatever else in traditional ways, but with the help of photographs available in the archives! I decided to make portraits of iconic powerful animals, for creation, the assembly of which I decided to use stylized fragments of photographs; something like a digital collage, but a little modified. The main difference from the traditional collage technique is that I additionally processed the material (photo) to give it more plasticity, for a more precise fit to the image being created. -@whitehoune
Although there aren't many posts on this author's profile, the ones that are there are simply amazing and well worth seeing. Check some of them out, you won't regret it!

Fun DIY Sand Castles on the beach!
Images property of @cmplxty
And last but definitely not least we have a sandcastle! Yes, you've heard that right, @cmplxty treated us with a lengthy post and many cool process pictures of their sandcastle building adventure! The post is funny, creative and interesting, really I only have positive things to say. Go ahead and open it up and see for yourselves!
Hi fellow Steemians,
Had to share a fun little sandcastle build I had while vacationing in Florida recently!
One of my favorite things to do at the beach is mess around in the sand. Whether that’s dig really big holes, look for sea shells or in the case of this post, build some fun and elaborate sand castles before the ocean comes back and destroys it all. I typically build the castles in the range of the waves and tides so that it eventually gets taken down by the water. I kind of like the pressure of building it before the waves come in, seeing how far I can get before the inevitable end with waves. -@cmplxty
