This is not a horror story, just a simple and honest recount of the one day I worked at Trump Modeling Agency.

It was a cold spring morning in NYC, I started out at 40thst in queens 8:30am. My skateboard hurls me down the street, coffee in hand, to the bus stop on Greenpoint Ave. The Q bus is a 15min ride to Brooklyn offering great panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. I then transferred to a downtown Brooklyn bound bus at the corners of Greenpoint and Manhattan, notorious for 25 min wait and an unbearable 45min ride (depending on traffic) to my destination. I occupy my mind with the morning news or a historical audio book and my stomach reminds me of the sandwich I will purchase at the nearby bodega. I arrive at work (the basement floor of a 6 story building that consumes half the block) and see my boss running out, "Get your tool bag we are going to Manhattan to work for the day. Doing so, I returned to the front of the building where my boss was waiting. "Cars in the shop, hop on the back of the motorcycle." Reluctant to do so knowing my bosses driving history I plead to him to meet there via Subway. "No time, get on!" Off we go across the Brooklyn Bridge hitting speeds of what seemed to me to be 60-80mph . As he sped and weaved through traffic (often down the middle of the lane) I felt as if I was about to fall off the back. My arms becoming stiff and tense trying to brace myself from falling. Tears streamed from eyes as snot smeared across my face. Amazingly at such speeds we arrived so quickly I breathed a huge sigh of relief to have survived. I was at the now defunct Trump Modeling Agency. My boss drops my tool bag on the ground and instructs me to go to the main office and uninstall all the artwork on the walls. "No problem." I said wiping the snot from my face. The office was a huge modern glass room with an equally long glass conference table bifurcating the room. The walls behind the table displayed 8 large paintings about 8x9ft each with my bosses signature pop art. I sighed again realizing it indeed was a large job but at least there was two of us to get the job done. Then my boss turns and says, "See you at 5pm," and retreated to the elevator. I was on my own. The agency was very busy with many modelesque and heroesque figures coming and going. To get the paintings off the walls I lifted one corner off the wall and placed it on the ground as the other corner stayed on the wall, then repeated it with the opposite side. The framework behind the canvas gave me hand holds to carry the painting to a waiting area. I dropped the painting face down on the floor (after sweeping the area) and started the slow process of removing each staple one at a time to separate the canvas from the frame. Once detached I used my power screw driver to remove all hardware from the wood beams and then stacked the 2x4s in a pile. Rinse and repeat 7 more times. I remember how the sun poured through those huge glass windows making me sweat profusely. During those hours at the agency know one talked to me nor I them, (I felt that I looked totally out of place there disgusting and dirty) I just tried to work quickly and quietly. Upon completion I rolled all 8 canvases into one and wrapped it in shrink wrap. I pushed all the wood into a corner and out of the way of the nonstop foot traffic. I was exhausted having taken no brake (I usually never did when operating on a time limit. Suddenly I got a call from my boss, "Its 5pm, don't worry about the canvases, someone will come pick them up with a truck." Monetarily relived, he continued, "I'm almost there I will pick you up on the bike." Waves of terror passed over me with flashbacks of the mornings ride. "You know what?" I said, "I will take the bus home, Thanks." I popped on my headphones, played some Deeds of Flesh and ended my one and only day at Trump Modeling Agency- and thankful for that.
