Hello guys, this week we want to show you guys how we design a particular scene for the story we are working on.
The story is about a Master Crocodile and his crew's magical journey to the "Greatest Temple"...
And this particular scene is the land where the main character Crocodile was born and raised. The concept for the city is about how people use various types of mechanisms to use simple tools for daily tasks.
So here is the scene Qianjiao came up with.
PROCESS STEP 1
Qianjiao first thought about what type of design language would be suitable for a holly place where the residents are simple and innocent. So we thought about tiered Architecture to represent the holiness, and tools being exaggerated as part of the scene.
Here is an example of initial study. A take off point is to study the simple mechanism for a fishing pole, and try to exaggerate the feature to make it blend in the scene, also functional for the residents' daily tasks.
PROCESS STEP 2
Reference some Medieval mechanic designs to formally imagine it within the scene we are going to design.
PROCESS STEP 3
Coming up with sketches to explore the possibilities of combining tiered Architecture with tools in our scene.
In the end we will keep these ideations as viable options and continue to design the land Master Crocodile will grow up in.
