Get it started, uh, get it started right here.. (uh-huh). (edited for Google Pic links giving me the eyebrow of death)

Well, here goes.. decided to start posting over here after we were listening to V one morning and he was talking about here on his show.  So I'll start adding content, why not..

One of the things I was doing (and still do when I get some time) is combine two of my favourites, Doctor Who and South Park.  Sure, they're natural fits.  :D

For those who have time travelled forward from 1962, Doctor Who is a British (BBC) science fiction show that follows our protagonist, (a Libertarian alien fleeing from the planet of his birth, BureaCratica Republica)  as he travels (with all the universe and time and space at his disposal) repeatedly to Earth at various points in its timeline, mostly for budgetary reasons.  It's a bit more than that, but there you go.

South Park is an American animated show (similar to Flintstones for 1962 reference) that follows the adventures of a bunch of foul mouthed mostly well meaning kids in their 20+ year of 5th grade. (It's also been going a while, sort of like the Andy Griffth Show, or I Love Lucy).

South Park has a pretty specific look :

So, the challenge has been to take the look of this:

(our hero)

And to convert him into this:

But I think I have the hang of it..

Oh!  Also, as they went along, our hero changes his appearance as he reaches the end of his life (through old age, forced change, radiation poisoning, traumatic injury, etc), so he changes his appearance (changing the actor at the same time) in a process similar to this:

Then the character survives what would otherwise kill him, but changing the personality traits, preferences in clothing, skills even, and also (of course) appearance,

So, our hero.. formerly a grumpy looking senior type, suddenly looks like this:

He's now a lot less grumpy, and cares for people more.. and likes to hide his skills through putting on a bit of the air of a clownish rogue.  But for me, that means a bit more work..

Now our hero is on the run from his own people, (they call themselves the Timelords, not to be confused with the early KLF music group), and you can think of them as being a planet full of government workers who like to wear funny hats and robes.  A particular religious group comes to mind, but we won't go there.  They look like this:

Or (more work for me)

And when that agenda item comes up in that project meeting, they occasionally think about getting our hero back.  Why they don't simply look for him on Earth during the major historical events is beyond me, but let's put it down to bureaucrats aren't major thinkers.

Now, in addition to his own people looking for him,our hero being originally a grumpy old man, honks off one of the initial alien races he meets, a group that looks like what you'd get if you had a love child with a toilet plunger a collander, a garbage can, and a bar stool.  They call themselves the Daleks and look like this:

Or (more work for me)

This is a later view of our hero, our xenophobic hateful collection of kitchen appliances, and their creator, the formerly living Davros, in the center, right there.  We won't worry about him yet, and introducing a later version of our hero with describing what a Dalek is just proves that this is a time travel story.  :)

Oddly enough, our hero isn't the only bad boy who has decided that TRS reports weren't in his future, his was the apparent Bad Ass Class of Gallifrey that yeah.  (Gallifrey is the name of his home planet as opposed to being somewhere in Scotland or Wales or some such).

Later on, we sort of get an alumni reunion as the writing staff can't believe that they still have jobs after all of those years, and introduce one of his biggest adversaries, The Master

He also takes on a few different looks over the years, but the look is mostly the same:

With a couple of exceptions

He later becomes a girl, but we'll go into that another time..

So anyways, that's about enough for Part 1.. I'll give you a teaser for Part 2

Later!
