Above is my favourite artwork by Joan Miró. In my hallway, I have a print of 'Singing Fish'. I think it's such a cheerful picture.
Joan Miró i Ferrà lived from 1893 – 1983.
He was a Spanish artist who painted, made ceramics and sculpted.
Miro was a surrealist, born in Barcelona, who liked to use symbolic forms.
Like Dali, Miro used his art to express his political views, particularly during the Spanish Civil war when he worked with Picasso.
Miro held many exhibitions of his work and became very popular.
Now I will show you more of Miro's work.
Above is one of my favourites. It makes me think of dogs and birds dashing away for each other. Again, I love the colours and the movement is brilliant. This painting makes me laugh.
Miró's art has been called Surreal. I just think it's a representation of how he saw the world. Maybe that's Surrealism, I don't know.
It looks like digital art to me, maybe done on Krita. Of course, it can't be because Miró lived too long ago.
I like the flowers and the creatures. I think I can see two birds and a worm.
There are two figures standing on two legs. Are they an adult and a child or a person with a dog?
The sky is full of exciting things. What are they?
I leave you with this photo of Joan Miro's studio in Son Abrines:
