Kandinsky, Kandinsky, Kandinsky! A Skilled Abstract Painter

Composizione Viii, C.1923 by Kandinsky.

The above image is my favourite painting by Kandinsky. It reminds me of a geometry lesson. I loved them in high school.

Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky lived from 1866 to 13 1944. He was a Russian painter.

Kandinsky is often said to have painted one of the first purely abstract works shown above. Abstract it may be, but I can see things in it, haha. I think it represents a summer day in the park! What do you think?

Kandinsky was born in Moscow. He started his art career at the age of 30.

Color Study. Squares with Concentric Circles, 1913

When I was studying the art module of my degree, I made an investigation into colour similar to the above image. Here it is:

I wonder if his was an investigation too? From the title, I think it was.

The above image is another of my favourites by Kandinsky.

When I have time, I would like to try to create some digital art on my graphics tablet in the style of Kandinsky.

Do you like Kandinsky's work?

Kandinsky is my favorite artist as well. I saw a retrospective of his work at the Guggenheim in NY and it made me cry. Thank you for this post...

I am jealous! I have to make do with browsing his work.

Really? there are no Kandinsky's in London? but this makes sense to what you said earlier that you are going to try to replicate his work digitally - because the thing about Kandinsky is that he is so much MORE - live and in person. You should really try to get to see at least a few in person and you will see what I mean...when I was in London in 1985, I saw my other favorite artist, David Hockney - there was a retrospective at the British Museum... wonderful -

There may be Kandinskys in London but I am severely disabled and housebound so I cannot go searching for them. Hockney is great too, I agree :)

I am so sorry to hear that! I wish I could come visit and take you there myself!

That's a kind thought, thank you :)
