As you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of Matisse. I painted this last week not even intending on it looking like a Matisse, but once I was done I had to laugh because there it is. Sometimes our influences come out in unexpected ways. This is one of my favorite recent works, probably because the influence is so obvious.
