Nude Writing a Letter, Acrylic on Paper, 2015
I don’t really know the inspiration for this. I know there is another painting of a nude writing a letter that I am quite fond of, so that was probably what I was going for here. This is a different angle though.
The figure here is… well… A bit distorted. The feet make me cringe, and that thigh is a bit anorexic.
I should have just stuck to background painting with this one, as the background is actually pretty good. I took a nod from Matisse and added one of my own paintings to the wall.
Overall this is still a favorite of mine, because I took a lot of time to get details right, even if the figure itself is a bit off.
I’m posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph or sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progression as an “artist”!
