Risen...

in art •  6 years ago

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this... I've been working on a 3D model of a temple for sometime now, huge in scale. I was thinking of packaging for sale, but it will be sometime before that happens. Still, I like the model and wanted to put it into a scene. So, although very little is shown, I thought the shot came out well. The thing from the crypt has risen... beware.

I decided to color like a cartoonish feel, but when the model is finished, it will look photo-real.

It is the texturing and bump maps, or painting that brings out the realism. That and the lighting effects used. Let me know your thoughts.....

Have a great day!

i'm shaking my head... wow. it looks so real..
actually the second one that is broken down looks more real - the first one - the lighting looks a bit odd to me. maybe like you said - cartoon feel?

but i'd love to see the finished product and did you ever get it to the point where you could actually sell it???

hope so! :)

Not yet,... maybe someday. Here is an overhead view.risen2.jpg

im so confused what i'm looking at LOL
this does NOT look like a drawing or illustration.

this looks like something you sculpted and then took a picture of it!!!!

howwwwwww did you do this?!?!?!?!?!

its so cool!!!!

Missed this one, lol. I did sculpt the 3D model like clay in ZBrush. Organic modeling system. It is 3D in computer, meaning you can zoom in, fly around, go inside, get close or far away to any angle. To be used in video games, videos, or images. Some good modelers can have something like this done and painted in 1-3 days..... It took me almost a year. lol. Then repainting for another year to get what I wanted. Its been an ongoing learning experience for quite some time.

no you didn't miss it... i told you - my Ginabot was telling me you were commenting - and i was answering you right after you replied - but you were on a mission to answer the others so you didnt know i was coming up behind you hahaha

modeling like clay on a computer. that is amazing. seriously - you have to have a mind that can see things like that! i would think a sculptor would have to FEEL it - but... you're seeing it and imagining it... and wow.

who cares if it took you a year! LOLOL its a masterpiece - really amazing stuff!!! you have a lot of patience for your craft - that's for sure :)
