Tiger Realistic Charcoal Original Drawing

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

This is my Tiger- 60x90cm Dark Charcoal drawing. It took me around 200 hours to complete.
With this work i have some mixed emotions. In one way, i am happy that it has a new home, but on the other hand, i would have loved to keep this one to myself. I realized that just a little bit too late:(
There is not many works, that i want to keep. I try to express an emotion or feeling through the piece, and after i have finished any painting or drawing, i usually dont want every day to look at it. I want others to see them. To feel them. There is not even one work, i did with no emotions, no passion. Sometimes it takes me even 3 hours, just to decide, what exactly i will draw next. Not even mentioning that i am thinking about my next projects every minute of the day. Sometimes an idea can just pop up in the morning, or in the middle of the night. Usually i have a peace of paper, just aside my bed, so that i can right something down, when i wake up at night. Because if i dont, in the morning i will feel like i know i had something in my mind, something great, but i just cant remember... Anybody also has had feeling like that?

These tiger whiskers i always draw at the end using an eraser.

This photo i received from a person who purchased this drawing after it was framed.

Impressive!

I failed art one year because I liked pencil and ink and sucked at color. So your mediums are much appreciated. I love the depth.
