A very successful rendition which relies on contrast for dramatic effect. The cat seems to be emerging from the shadow and its long ears stand out against the dark background. They have movement and make the creature look like a little devil. This mischief is again contrasted with the innocent look of thos big globular eyes. I like the soft texture of the hair of the cat and how this texture transitions from dark to light.
When a cat drinks, its tongue - which has tiny barbs on it - scoops the liquid up backwards.
