Galaxy Painting- Finished Piece + Progress Photo

in art •  6 years ago

Since @ricorolla gifted me with the materials I'd need to paint, and I'd never really painted before, I figured it was a good time to get to work and do some hand-on learning.

After the first experiment:

I moved on to the next attempt at a galaxy, armed with the knowledge I'd picked up while practicing on the first. I started with a layer of black gesso accross the whole page. I then layered different intensities of purples, pinks, and blues over the black.

After allowing all that to dry completely, I laid the work down on the floor and sprinkled some stars accross the page to finish it.

I can make you another ethereum cut out painting for $50, plus the cost of shipping and framing.

is it possible for you to do a painting similar to this? images-2.jpg

No, I don't think so.

Pretty slick lookin! ;)

Fascinating process! Did you use a paintbrush to sprinkle the stars?

Yes, I watered down the paint so it would splatter more efficiently.
