( Do we need a gender war?)

Hi There,
This is a sculpture I´ve just made a week ago about gender tensions and ideologies.

The sculpture, uses plain symbologies, in an attempt to make us reflect on the new psicological disjunctives, between the historical gender mindframes, and the new gender frames, proposed by the last wave of feminists, with its gender ideology, and in hand with many different gender identities and diversities.

On one side, the masculine gender is represented as an entity in search of its own gender psychological re-defintion, amidst an emerging plethora of identities that see masculinity as a toxic social construct, and hetero sexuality as a mere power ideology .

On the other side, the new situation of women, that for the fist time find themselves operatin in the same spaces that before were men´s only.
A feminine nature, that dispossessed of there own historical spaces, now looks for the implication of the state, in order to implement its newly gained political rights. And that very often, from specious scientifical positions see themselves defending other political subjects, that are not intrinsic to the feminine nature, like the LGTB rights, however necessary that may seem.

All this, in an sterile context of division and animosity that prevent us in some extent, from an inclusive positioning in front of the tremendous ecological and political challenges that we confront in this century.
