This picture you are looking at is a piece of art that I made inspired on the culture of the city I live in.
I am showing here the sketch, in this stage I was deciding the shapes and forms I would use later.

In the background I set a "Tapiz Zuliano" form, it is a "Wayú" tradicional piece of art.

The girl you see, is a "Wayú girl".

The Wayú people are a group of native people from the peninsula of La Giajira. They have left a cultural heritage on the Zulia state.

I show you here the final work, when I add the colours, and some lights. This is a Guajira girl wearing a beatiful Manta Guajira, which is the typical dress of the Guajira Culture.

In the background the tapiz is made of lights that at night turn up and spread color and life to anyone that looks at it.

Her facial expression is kind as the people of my city.

All the colors are bright and warm, to make reference of the typical buildings colors and the weather here.

This picture is a type of Tapiz Guajiro, if you see the shapes and figures, you will find many abstract forms, circles and triangles as birds and flowers.

Tapices are very colorful, they are mostly red or blue, yellow.

As I said before, the tapices guajiros were my inspiration for the background of my picture.

I live in a colorful city

Maracaibo is full of color in everywhere, houses and buildings and also in the people, always with good humor and joking.

Maracaibo is a sunny and hot place wih plenty of warm people

This place you see here is called Calle Carabobo, in El Saladillo.

These are the typical kind of traditional houses in Maracaibo. With long windows and wooden doors. With those bright and beautiful colors.

If you come to Maracaibo you can also see the beautiful lake

And you could take a ride on the brige, this is called: "Elpunte sobre el lago"

Here you can have an amazing view of the lake, meanwhile you enjoy the lights show.

So it would be better to visit it at night

For ending I could not helped showing you, another view of the Lake of Maracaibo.

This view is of the Isla Dorada apartments, but you can also aprecciate such a nice view if you visit the park "La vereda"

Where you can be at the shore of the lake.

I will show you here, for ending, the whole view of the artwork I made inspired on my culture and the things I share about my city above (The brige lights, the shapes of the tapiz zuliano, the Guajira culture and the colors of my city).

This is a digital artwork, that I made on my computer

I hope you liked it and have enjoyed this little journey.

See you on the next time

XOXO
