@stillwatersart, I can't believe the amount of MIND-GARBAGE I had/have regarding art!
Most of it revolves around a hard-to-unroot belief that art is an (expensive) indulgence, for which there isn't enough time or money.
Being 'bad' at it, or making messes/ugly errors isn't so bad... it's the wasted resources and materials that freeze me from making a first stroke.
So I tricked my own self, by starting on a crumpled piece of scratch paper! Less pressure :-)
Definitely using non precious materials helps to free up ou up. Also, you would be surprised what kind of masterpiece you can create using kids’ art supplies. Stocking up when they have back to schools sales is an inexpensive way to start. (Do they have those in Beliz?)
