Ink Sketches

Hi everyone, hope your Monday went about as well as a Monday could go.

I would like to talk a bit about what art means to me and why I make all of these drawings. When I started out doing drawings as a kid, it never had any sort of meaning. Life doesn't really have importance or meaning when you're a kid. You just know what you like, you know you like the Ninja Turtles so you're going to watch the show and if you're like me, you drew your Ninja Turtle figures and copied the art from the show. This is how I got my start, copying the art that I liked. Maybe I should have like Dali a bit more and I would be better now, but cartoons was what I had at the time.

When I got older, consciousness reared it's ugly head against the innocent fantasy world of being a child. Harsh realities came into play and I realized that things are very different in this world than what is spoon fed to us. Through middle school and high school the little doodles that I had been practicing from childhood started to take on a much darker theme. I was a product of all of the influences around me, the music I was listening to, the people I talked to, and the television consumed. I was lost for sure.

The balance between light and dark only came to me through spirituality which was first found not through church, but psychedelic experience. It struck me in my soul like lightning and woke me up into a new level of consciousness that i've stayed in since. It was like waking up into consciousness or coming home for a second time.

It was only then that I knew that there was a greater good that we are enveloped within. The great spirit and power that goes through us all. It made me realize that there is no separation and everything is one. My dark art changed into something different, It has a portion of me left, but the spirit is with me now. I have no choice but to live a better life because I have taken the responsibility of being aware of the infinite.

Anyways, that probably doesn't explain anything, but we will get to the bottom of this, just give me time. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful everything
