4-Color Process Screen Printing

in art •  7 years ago

A quick video showing a 4-color process screen print we are working on.

For those who aren't familiar with screen printing, in order to achieve the effect of various color tones you can print in a process called CMYK.
C: Cyan
M: Magenta
Y:Yellow
K: Black

Each of these color tones are broken down onto their own layer of halftone dots. Halftone dots are tiny dots that of varying density. The more dense the dots are, the more saturated the color value is.

When you print each layer in the order of CMYK, you can give the illusion of various colors by overlapping the halftone dots of each color.

It is like magic!
