Hello Everyone.
As an artist, there are quite a lot of places I get my inspirations from. Whether I'm about to begin my commissioned portraits or wildlife drawings, I always seek for a source of inspiration which I believe helps me to create artworks I'll end up falling in love with.
In this post, I'll be sharing my top 3 sources of inspiration as an artist.

  1. ARTWORKS BY OTHER ARTISTS.

I'm pretty sure hundreds of thousands of artists can relate to this. When I see an amazing artwork created by another artist, I'm inspired to create mine and try my best to be better. I also get inspiration from artworks of the ol masters and my favorite is Caravaggio who's style of realism and detailed works still blow my mind every time I see his works.

  1. MUSIC ;
    I also get inspiration from several singers and musicians. There's power in music and when I wanna create an artwork, It has become my habit to play songs that I believe would make me create a stunning piece. My favorite singers are Beyonce, Adele, Wizkid, Sam Smith and Usher. I'm a big fan of classical music too.

  2. MY ENVIRONMENT;

Lastly I get inspiration from my immediate surroundings. This could include the scenes, people, animals, plants and buildings around me. I've grown to understand that there is always a piece of art around us and we just have to open our eyes to see them.

Yeah, inspiration comes in many forms. I've even waxed poetic about my inspiration. If you're interested, here's a link to the poem on my WordPress blog: https://momzillanc.wordpress.com/2019/10/16/inspiration/

Wow.. I checked out the poem. What a great choice of words and comparison. I love the last part which talked about how inspiration is/are "Words of the Divine set down for me". This is beautiful @momzillanc
