Street art is my favorite kind that exists on the planet. I'm not terribly cultured and I am also not a and I am also not an artist so when someone tries to point out some museum sounding stuff about why this classical artist is amazing and brush techniques and what not. Well, I don't know what the hell they are talking about. I just know that I like what I like and the techniques and time-period involved might be important to people that want a college degree in that sort of shit but that aint me.
I just know when I like something I see and street art, since it is normally not done in a studio in very precise conditions appeals to me more because the person(s) involved probably had to deal with elements that a rich person in a studio with tons of financial backing probably didn't have.
It's just an everyman type of thing I guess
Here are some find that I appreciated in the ghost town of Da Nang, Vietnam lately.
Done of the entrance of a building that has never been open since I have lived here, this watching eye appeals to me. I don't like that someone tagged it after the fact but such is the nature of the street art game
This is a hotel, and the flowers around the head of the person are real. This incorporation of nature and paint are pretty special and they have to maintain the flowers. You can see the roots of the actual plant that make her hair coming out of the bottom left.
Unfortunately, this hotel has zero guests and isn't even open at the moment.
This last one is garbage I'll admit that but it made me laugh. A little kid may have made this for all i know. These sheet metal barricades frequent the landscape here because on the other side there is normally some sort of tall structure going up to make even more condos for an area that had big plans for the future and well, the future is pretty bleak for Da Nang, pretty bleak for Vietnam, and possibly for the entire world.
Street art is not to easy to find in Vietnam or at least in the few parts that i have been in. Unless it is on a building with permission we don't really see much of it but these made me smile and I hope they make you do the same.
