GRAPHITE ART : WILL SMITH´S PORTRAIT ON VELUM

Hi guys!

My name is Tim and it´s my first time here on Steemit.. I am a graphite artist and would love to draw all kinds of things.
I´d like to share with you my art which I recently worked on. I came up with an idea of making something like a graphite stroke drawing style more on rendering , strokes , using a bit of smudges for cleaning and smoothening.

Since Will Smith has a dark skin tone (not being such a racist ) I thought he would be a better subject for my artwork...so here is my finished work which I worked hard for almost 8 hours on a 2 night- session. I know there are still a lot of things that I still have to work on but am thankful I successfully made it.

About the skin tone if you notice, the texture is a bit smooth like a brush charcoal portrait which is actually not. What I did is, I used a soft tissue to rub those sides smoothly and always avoid rubbing it too much to avoid damaging the board or paper. I always made sure to sharpen the pencil so the tip will always be thin which is good for rendering and applying some strokes most especially on the hair area. I always make sure everything is well proportioned.... the eyes , ears , nose is really important.
