I know of no genius but the genius of hard work - J.M.W Turner

Hi steemians sharing with you a recent acrylic painting on wooden panel in the style of J.M.W Turner.

This was the process

Began with the very basic primary colors, filling the entire panel. I also focused on creating movement with the brush strokes at this stage.

Began adding more tones. Some of these are too strong so will have to turn them down a little.

Added finer details to the painting and made some areas a little duller. If all areas were filled with vivid colors it would be a bit too cartoon like.

This piece was done with oils and took me several hours to do. I lost track of time when painting it. It is not as good as Turner's but my main focus was the way he captured movement and colors in his artworks.
